How will I know it's working?+

If they're already slower, most owners notice a difference within a few weeks — the stairs, the car, the first ten minutes of a walk. If they seem fine now, there's nothing to watch for yet: that's it working quietly, before any limp shows. Either way, if nothing's changed within sixty days, we refund you.

How much do I give them?+

It depends on their size — pick your dog's size in the box above for a guide, and the exact daily amount is always printed on the tub. Naturally flavoured with rosemary, so most dogs take it like a treat.

Is it safe alongside their other medication?+

It's a food supplement, not a medicine, and it isn't pain relief. If they're on anything from the vet, show them the full ingredients list first — it's all on there, which makes that conversation quick.

They're fourteen. Is it too late?+

Fourteen isn't too late to be more comfortable. It's support, not a time machine — but the study dogs included old ones, and the guarantee covers them too.

Why the limp comes late

They're not moving as quick as they did. You've seen this before.

With your last dog, you told yourself it was age. Nobody told you the truth: dogs hide pain by instinct — they just do a little less each month. And underneath, every year, their body makes less of the glucosamine that keeps joints repaired.

By seven, one in five dogs already have joint wear. By twelve, four in five. You didn't know then. You do now — Scamper supports the cartilage and joint fluid they've still got, which is why it's worth starting before the limp, not after.

What to expect, week by week

Weeks 1–2 Nothing visible. The actives are building. Keep going.
Weeks 3–4 The early tells — up from the bed quicker, keener at the door.
Weeks 5–8 Where most owners notice: the stairs, the car, the first ten minutes of a walk.
Ongoing Stays working as long as they stay on it — one chew a day, no rushing.

Every dog is different. That's why you get sixty days, not thirty.

Research-backed key ingredients

Glucosamine HCl
Raw shrimp, a traditional glucosamine source
Green-Lipped Mussel
Green-lipped mussels
Boswellia Serrata
Raw frankincense (Boswellia) resin tears, amber-gold in colour
Vitamin C
Sliced citrus

Most joint chews skip green-lipped mussel. Ours doesn't.

It's the ingredient most competitors leave out because it costs too much — see exactly where it sits in the full composition below.

Take the label to your vet. That's the point of printing it.

The mussel most chews leave out.

Off the coast of New Zealand grows a mussel found nowhere else on earth — the green-lipped mussel. The Māori who gathered them from the cold shallows for generations were long said to have famously good joints, and in the 1970s researchers went looking for why.

What they found: these mussels carry a rare group of omega-3s — including one called ETA that's scarcely found anywhere else — alongside the natural building blocks of joint cartilage. Not one active ingredient, but a package: the fats that support comfortable movement and the raw materials joints are actually made of, in one shell.

The honest bit

So why doesn't every joint chew include it? Simple — it's expensive. Green-lipped mussel has to be farmed in New Zealand waters and freeze-dried carefully to keep the good stuff intact. It costs many times what bulk glucosamine costs, so most brands skip it, or sprinkle in a trace and put it on the label anyway.

Green-lipped mussel is the 11th ingredient listed on the tub, out of 17 — high enough up the list that it's doing real work, not decoration.

“Glucosamine is the workhorse. Green-lipped mussel is the reason this formula isn't like the others.”

Why owners switch

01 The full list is printed You can check every ingredient against what your vet recommends — nothing's hidden behind a blend.

Questions owners actually ask

Not on the list? Email us — tell us their age and breed and we'll answer properly.

Is this pain relief?+

No — and anyone who says theirs is, isn't being straight with you. It's a food supplement that supports joints. If they're in visible pain, that's a vet visit, not a chew.

What if they're fussy?+

They're naturally flavoured with rosemary, so most dogs take them like a treat. If yours is fussy, break it up into their usual food.

Can I give it to a younger dog?+

Yes, from about five, and earlier for the big breeds and the ones that never sit down. Starting before the limp is the whole idea.

Is there a subscription?+

No. You buy the tubs you want and that's the end of it. If it's working and you'd like a nudge before they run out, say so in your order notes and we'll email you — no card kept, nothing automatic.

When does it arrive?+

2–3 working days, Royal Mail, free over £50. Ordered before noon, it goes out the same day.

What's the refund, exactly?+

Sixty days from your first order. Email us, keep the tub, we refund what you paid. That's the whole policy.
